BTS are on fire right now and there is no denying that the South Korean 7-member group has become one of the hottest boy bands not only in South Korea but all over the world. Their comeback album 'WINGS' had sealed their status as icons in the kpop music industry. But this next news about them is totally unrelated to WINGS.
Just recently, BTS's 'DOPE' had passed the 100 million mark on YouTube and has cemented their place among the few other Kpop artists who have reached over a hundred million views, Allkpop reports. As of October 26, 2016, BTS's music video for their single DOPE has about 100,360,409 views on the 1theK YouTube channel. Not only that, the video also has garnered over 1 million likes and the other video uploaded on Big Hit Entertainment's YouTube channel has also been viewed more than 5 million times.
The song Dope is a part of BTS's third mini album 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1' and was released back in June 23, 2015. Dope is one of the most popular singles of 2015. This achievement places BTS among the likes of Girls' Generation, 2ne1, BIGBANG, Super Junior, HyunA, f(x) and Psy who all have videos hitting over 100 million views on YouTube. However, out of all these popular artists and groups, BTS is the only Kpop group to reach over 100 million views without being a part of the so-called big three agencies namely YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and SM Entertainment.
Speaking of YouTube, their 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' from their latest album have also broken a few YouTube records as of late. According to Soompi, the music video for Blood, Sweat and Tears has become the most viewed Kpop video in 24 hours amassing 6.34 million views in a single day. The music video has also become the fastest video to hit 10 million views, doing so in only a span of 41 hours which is less than two days.
BTS has also become the fastest boy group to hit 20 million views in only 136 hours and the music video has also become the fastest Kpop video to reach 30 million views. The previous record was 15 days but Blood Sweat and Tears managed to beat with only 13 days.
Truly, BTS and their ARMY fans have much to celebrate about.
