When Scandals Combine: T-ARA To Collaborate With Chris Brown?

By now just about everyone knows about the bullying scandals surrounding the K-Pop group T-ARA, but is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

American singer Chris Brown has reportedly sent a love call to T-ARA N4, the group's subunit comprising of members Eunjung, Areum, Jiyeon, and Hyomin.

Brown invited the four ladies to his music video shoot in Los Angeles on May 11, but because the group was set to perform at the star-studded Dream Concert, they had to postpone the meeting instead flying to the States on May 12.

T-ARA were connected to Chris Brown through their newest member Dani (yet to debut with the group officially) who is a long-time friend of the American singer. Hearing that she was in the US, Chris invited Dani to his recent radio station concert in San Jose, California.

After the show, Dani told Brown about T-ARA and her plans to debut with them soon. She also reportedly showed him T-ARA N4's music video for "Countryside Life" and the singer took an instant interest in collaborating with them.

Core Contents Media, T-ARA's record label, confirmed the news and a representative for the company said, "T-ARA N4 will meet up with Chris Brown after he returns to LA following his San Jose performance to discuss music-related topics."

Getting some recognition in the United States may just be the thing T-ARA needs to pull themselves out of their current rut. At the moment fans and netizens alike are not particularly impressed by the behavior exhibited by the members recently. In addition to the tremendous online backlash their bullying controversies caused, when the four member took the stage at this past weekend's Dream Concert the crowd was reportedly quiet, with almost no cheering heard at all.

But is Chris Brown the best person to collaborate with if they want to change their image?

The singer has also had his fair share of bullying-type scandals, in fact, the allegations against him are far more severe than what the T-ARA members are accused of doing.

Brown not only has a history of domestic violence, being found guilty of assaulting on-again-off-again girlfriend Rihanna, but he has also had very public scuffles with both Drake and Frank Ocean.

His reputation is not exactly one that would benefit T-ARA, so what are they thinking?

Speculations about the situation guess that both artists are looking to change the way the public views them.

Brown would certainly benefit from collaborating with a cute-looking Korean pop group, especially in America where the majority of people are completely unaware of their past scandals. And the same could be said for T-ARA whose image may improve in Korea after having a high-profile collaboration with a famous American singer.

Or perhaps the members of T-ARA are ready to embrace their bad girl sides once and for all and comeback with a "we don't give a f*ck" attitude?

Whatever the reason, after this weekend's meeting fans and anti-fans alike will have a little more information about what the possible T-ARA-Chris Brown collaboration will mean.
