New drama 'Night Light' gets enough audience in South Korea; Netflix secures rights to air drama overseas

The new MBC drama “Night Light” premiered strongly to gain enough domestic audience and reach Top 20. Streaming service Netflix has signed the rights to air the drama to international audiences.

“Night Light” started with a conflict in the company owned by the father of the drama’s heroine, Yi-Kyung. She handles the conflict cold-heartedly. While the story for another character, Se-Jin was also built to show her toughness.

According to an official release by the MBC, the drama started its first episode with a high pace to develop the two lead female characters.

Lee Yo-Won, who is cast as Yi-Kyung, is able to show the cold-hearted and unemotional decision making well enough. Another character, Se-Jin, a risk taker and poor girl is played by singer turn actress Uee, the member of After School.

“Night Light” tells the story of ambitious woman Yi-Kyung, who has a strong determination to build her own business empire. Her desire and strong will to build her own business was driven by the mismanagement in her father's business which is near collapsed.

Yi-Kyung takes Se-Jin to become her aide as she see that Se-Jin’s courage is useful for her. MBC releases still image of the encounter between the two women as seen below:
