Lee Yubi, Uhm Jung Hwa to star in upcoming TV dramas in 2017

The new year 2017 reels off with a fresh start with two K-pop plot-driven-drama- series soon to hit the TV screens. The new prime time slot grabbers, "Devious 20" and "You're Too Much" will premiere on television early next year.

Already, with equally-catchy working titles, they have stirred high anticipation among their supporters. The production groundworks are underway.

Lee Yubi scales a light-hearted romantic comedy in Devious 20. She wires out browbeating acting skills with Lee Jung Hyun. Many supporters will be glued close to the TV as they monitor how she will take control of a well-faced acting having failed their expectations in her latest drama opus "The Walking Scholar."

The romantic comedy mirrors the cohabitation premise that resonates in the drama remake of the highly absorbing "Man Living in Our House." A keyed-up romance between the young, about the twentyish couple who started out as friends, will unleash a dizzying almost edgy plot that surmounts the young pair's life.

Devious 20 promises to become a homefront conversation piece as it airs.

Like Devious 20, You're Too Much is a working title for a 50- episode-drama top billed by Uhm Jung Hwa. It will debut on MBC.

Fans will be pushing for a high-caliber performance that, according to k-pop watchers, are absent in the roles she has been exploring on for the past years.

The drama actress reprises a pop star diva confronted by a personal circumstance. How she will keep up to par with a role she can naturally relate to (being a singer herself), the audience eagerly awaits.

The fans expect larger than life approach to her role as she has not starred in this movie category for a while. It brings her back to the family -oriented genre after trying romantic comedies; sex and relationships acting parts in the past.

Aside from the TV starring role, the actress-singer will revive her brand of music. An evergreen in the k-pop music business, expect the song and dance diva to showcase dance- electro-pop discography due for a launch early next year.

Under the Mystic69 label, the album will soon hit the music billboards. It registers Uhm Jung Hwa's musical comeback after hibernating from singing to concentrate on her acting.

She has accepted the drama offer that, press releases say, will start in February 2017.
