Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook will officially leave “Running Man”

7012 no more.

Avid fans of the hit urban variety show "Running Man" are definitely sad upon hearing the news of Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook leaving the show.

On December 14, All Kpop revealed that there were some insider reports that "Running Man" will be overhauled next year for its second season and apparently, Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook are already not in the member's list for the new season. Comedian Kang Ho Dong was reported to be casted as one of the new hosts, however, he already released an official statement declining the said offer.

As an explanation to the said news, MY Company, Song Ji Hyo's new agency, announced that the "My Wife is having an Affair this Week" actress will be leaving the variety show to focus further on her acting career. There were even some insider reports that Song Ji Hyo have turned down some drama and movie projects before due to the demands brought by the said variety show.

Meanwhile, Maroo Entertainment, Kim Jong Kook's agency, also released an official announcement confirming that the Turbo singer has decided to leave the show after considering some pros and cons. When asked about the singer's official reasons, they have remained silent and will perhaps release an in-depth statement in the coming days.

Critics have already predicted the sad atmosphere in the show after Gary's departure last month. Dramabeans noted that the show had declining ratings lately despite guesting prominent people like EXO's D.O., Jo Jong Suk, and Twice.

On a lighter note, the other members of the variety show: Yoo Jae Seok, Ji Seok Jin, Haha, and Lee Kwang Soo have reinstated their commitments to the show and will stay longer for the time being for the rumored second season of "Running Man".

Song Ji Hyo and Kim Jong Kook are reported to have their last taping of "Running Man" next Monday, December 19.
