Jung Hye-Sung has announced to participate in new KBS drama “Chief Kim.” She will joing Nam Goong-Min and Nam Sang-Mi who have already committed to the drama. The drama is slated to air in February 2017.
Jung is reported to agree to play in the new KBS drama “Chief Kim” according to her agency FNC Entertainment in the statement as quoted by Top Star News.
She will be playing with Goong-Min in the business drama. Goong-Min will become the titular role Kim Gwan-Chul, a fund manager who managed fund from the company owned by gangster. Veteran actor Cha Tae-Hyun was the first choice to play Kim Gwan-Chul, but he has already had filming schedule so the production team search for the replacement.
The production team selected Goong-Min whch they believe to be the best choice. One main reason is that he is one of the actor who is capable to play variety of roles. He played a movie director who filmed a gangster in the 2006 movie “A Dirty Carnival” and as main antagonist in the drama “Remember: War of the Son” SBS drama earlier this year.
The drama “Chief Kim” is written by KBS playwright Park Jae-Beom who is known for his work the KBS medical romance drama “Good Doctor” in 2013. His last project is the comedy drama “Blood” in 2015. For the “Chief Kim” drama, Park will collaborate with director Lee Jae-Hoon for the first time.
“Chief Kim” is the fourth KBS drama project for Jung after her last one in the highly acclaimed drama “Love in the Moonlight” as princess Myeong-Eun. Recently she just joined MBC reality show “We Got Married.” Her appearance and beauty is expected to lift the rating of the program according to Yonhap News Agency, as the show suffered a significant drop in the rating.
