The oldest Korean idol group Shinhwa return with the new album “Unchanging - Touch” which was released on Monday, Jan. 2. The album is the second part of their “Unchanging” album which was released in October 2016.
Shinhwa debuted in 1998 along with H.O.T. and S.E.S. as part of the SM Entertainment ‘s first generation idol group. In an interview with Yonhap News Agency, they reveal the idea behind their 13th studio album “Unchanging - Touch” and how they discarded their old image in the new album to come up wih a new image.
"The members pour in much time in order to present a fresh image," said Andy Lee. His band mate Hye-Sung then added, “We always sought out the new and discarded what's comfortable for us."
They presented the new album in style of electronic dance music (EDM) according to Seoul Daily News. The style has been popular in music recently produced by musicians in Korea and overseas. EDM is a combination of many dance music element and Shinhwa is known as one of the best dance among the KPop idols.
Fans are already anticipating the second part of “Unchanging” album after the first part “Unchanging - Orange” was released on Oct. 29. The title song “Orange” was dedicated to their fans and the official color of the group’s fandom. While in the second part of the “Unchanging - Touch” they reveal their sentimental side.
Their fans are noted to be the most loyal fans in the history of KPop. The fans have been with the group for more than 18 years and supported them during the hard time and cheer for their success. Shinhwa dedicate the album “Unchanging” to their fans.
Following the release of the album, the six-member groups which never change their original members for 18 years will launch a tour. They will start the tour from Taiwan in February, followed by Busan, Daegu and other cities in Korea.
