EXID's lead rapper LE is a standout in the recent episode of the Hip Hop Nation 2. In fact, she wins her shot at making it to the finals. Singing with Jang Ki Yong. and Fiestar's Yezi, the singer had an opportunity to reveal what it takes to be good at one's craft- being a rapper.
In the selection, she and the contestants she performed with had elected to name their group Good, per Starlive. As the production went on, the audience were engaged moving with their beats.
Some can't help but feel stunned as the group took their turns to rap.. Each one stayed on a steady tempo and rhythm. As it progressed, the artists' delivery became bouncy then escalating into a pace that sustained the audience's attention until the end.
Glued to their seats, the spectators in return, shifted into loud claps, whistles and sounds of approval to an exemplary execution. Per Allkpop, LE came out leading in the Hot Chicks category.
That easily took the rapper to the final round. What made her rendition distinct from the rest of the group?
While the other artists made use of the moment their chance to show the best in them rapping, Le fixed something unique. She did not adopt her regular voice.
She switched to a nasal register, giving the rap that electronic effect. It made a novelty in the interpretation. On the beat, she stayed, never lost her meter as marked by the continuous flow of lyrics as precise as one wishes to.
Likewise, LE kept her pace consistent. She had the rhymes that make a rap piece pleasing to the ear. Distinctly, her pitch did not effect a shrill sound.
Instead, it was steady as it builds into a variation in volume. Striking still is how swiftly the lyrics and the swing flowed in consonance with an offbeat delivery. Significantly, she had the visuals of a graceful move as she drops and sways while the beat keeps on.
An added bonus to that unique interpretation is the release of the Good Song that the group performed in the competition several days later.
