BoA Prepares New Album, Making Competition Between Female Singers Becomes Very Tight This Year

BoA follows other top female singers who returrn to music this year. She currently prepares her new album, expected to launch this year.

According to Korea Times, BoA follows Uhm Jung-Hwa, Lee Hyo-Ri, Bae Suzy and her agency mate Seo-Hyun to release their new album. This year will be a tough competition between female singers, because those are some of the most respected names in the music industry.

The showdown between female singer began with the most senior of them, Uhm who launches her new album after 8 years titled “The Cloud Dream of the Nine.” Later on the others follow suit, including BoA.

However, the release date of her new album has not been decided, according to official statement from her agency, SM Entertainment as reported by News1. The agency confirmed that BoA is preparing her 9th album after her eight Korean album “Kiss My Lips” in 2015.

Aside from her Korean albums, she has also released albums in Japanese and English. She has eight albums in Japanese and one album in English which was released for U.S. market in 2009.

She began her career in the early age. At the age of thirteen she released her first album “ID; Peace B” in 2000, followed by “No.1” two years later. She gained a huge success in Japan after expanding her music career by releasing first Japanese album “Listen to My Heart” in 2002.

The 30-year-old singer began to enter acting in 2014 as a cameo appearance in the movie “The Law of Pleasures.” Afterward she starred in three movies that year, including “Big Match” accompanying acclaimed actor Lee Jung-Jae. Recently, she played in the drama “My Wife is Having an Affair” as a supporting character, accompanying Lee Sun-Kyun, Song Ji-Hyo and Lee Sang-Yeob.
