JYP Entertainment girl group TWICE breaks another record with their music video “TT.” The music video has reached 100 million views in YouTube in 71 days after being released on Oct. 24, 2016.
In its offficial announcement as quoted by Yonhap News Agency, JYP Entertainment announced the record breaking. The statement said that within 71 days after its release, the M/V of the single from their new album "TWICEcoaster: LANE1" has reached 100 million view in the video sharing network.
Previously, the record was held by the single “Cheer Up” from their second album with 207 days last Nov. 17. As for now TWICE already have three music videos that have been watched by 100 million viewers. The first one is their first single “"Like OOH-AHH" on Nov. 17, followed by “Cheer Up” and “TT” on Jan. 3. Their third album "TWICEcoaster: LANE1" has been sold more than 200,000 copies according to report by Seoul Daily News.
Their success is phenomenal for the nine-members girl group. Since their debut in October 2015, TWICE has broken two YouTube records and their three singles have reached a staggering 100 million views.
"With such accomplishment within only a year and two months since their debut, we are able to see the very fast growth curve of TWICE," the statement from JYP Entertainment read.
Up to now, JYP Entertainment has only formed three girl groups, starting from Wonder Girl which was formed in 2006, followed by Miss A in 2010. TWICE is the new generation of JYP’s girl group, which the members were selected from variety show “Sixteen” on MNet in TV station 2015.
TWICE debuted three monts after “Sixteen show ended in July. Dubbed as the hottest girl group in KPop, TWICE took the KPop by the storm with their debut album “The Story Begins.” Prior to their debut, JYP Entertainment released a web series titled “Twice TV” that showcased interviews with the members as they shared their hopes, dreams and personal matters.
