MBC’s Idol Star Athletic Championship 2017 Will Put Safety At The Highest Priority

MBC’s sporting competition for idol groups will put safety as the highest priority in this year’s event. This year, Idol Star Athletic Championship will not compete futsal to prevent injury to participants.

Idol Star Athletic Championshop (ISAC) started its 14th event on Monday, Jan. 16. This year, MBC as the organizer will put safety as the highest priority as reported by MBN. The event will be held at Goyang Indoor Stadium in Gyeonggi-Do. This year’s event will have competition in the track and field, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, and aerobics.

In order to prevent injury for the participating idols, MBC has decided to omit futsal from the competition. It is because the futsal competition had caused many injuries to idols last year which made fans worry. Therefore, this year’s event will change futsal competition into men’s aerobic dance. The event organizer will also bring in more medical team to prevent injury. It is because the participants are very competitive which made them prone to injury.

This year’s event will feature many idol groups, both male and female. In the men’s idol groups there are B1A4, B.A.P, EXO, Monsta X, BTS, and Vixx to participate. While the women’s will have Red Velvet, SONAMOO, GFRIEND, Cosmic Girls, gugudan, and TWICE.

In order to prepare himself for the event, BTS member Rap Monster posted his challenge to other participants in his social media as reported by Star Seoul TV. He posted his selca (selfie) wearing a hood and looked confident to face the competition.

In last year’s event, member of the girl group Cosmic Girls Cheng Xiao mesmerized the audience with her flexibility in the rhythmic gymnastic event. Although the event was held for a fun game, but the participants were very competitive, which made them prone to injury.
