CeFaan Kim, Korean Reporter for WABC Attacked By a Masked Assailant: Assailant Claims He Just Wanted 'Publicity'

Reporter for WABC CeFaan Kim was attacked during a live broadcast Friday evening, March 3. The attacker, later identified as Key Jonta Foster, claimed he just wanted some publicity.

During an evening live broadcast on the Lower East Side in New York, reporter for WABC CeFaan Kim was attacked by a masked assailant wearing a hockey mask similar to Friday the 13th's villain Jason Vorhees, reports Daily News.

CeFaan Kim was about to finish his live report on an attempted rape in New York's Lower East Side when suddenly a masked assailant from behind put his arms around the reporter. The whole incident was captured on video and can be seen on CeFaan Kim's Twitter account.

The camera was then pulled up but then the assailant can be heard asking to keep the camera on him. After then, Kim can be seen pushing the assailant, as if he was trying to ask what was the guy's problem.

The assailant then shoved CeFaan Kim to the ground. The assailant can be then heard saying "I didn't attack you, you attacked me!"

Things were heating up between the two but luckily, a TV crew and a bystander got in between. The masked assailant then ran off after a short stare down.

The masked assailant was later identified as one Key Jonta Foster, reports New York Post. Foster is a New York musician also known by the stage name "Majesty Da Rebel".

Foster claimed that he wanted publicity as he was just trying to promote his music. He ended up, however, shoving reporter CeFaan Kim.

"The reason I did it was because I knew I'd get negative feedback from it," told Foster to the New York Post. He added that he saw and took the opportunity to promote his video and mixtape.

Foster said he was friendly from the beginning, but then CeFaan Kim pushed and grabbed him. And that's how the ensuing incident happened.

CeFaan Kim luckily suffered just a scrape and a bruise. CeFaan Kim also took to Facebook to thank everyone's concerns.
