After teasers and much waiting, Eric Nam finally released his collaboration with former I.O.I member Somi -- a track called 'Who, You?" and the MV is absolutely filled with cuteness and sunshine. The collaboration is expected to be part of Eric Nam's seasonal release project "Spring Note," and a lead-in to his much-awaited comeback mini album in March.
According to a report by Billboard, the song was written by Eric Nam to depict the blossoming of a springtime romance. It can be recalled that Nam previously collaborated with Red Velvet's Wendy on the first "Spring Note" track called "Spring Love."
The review cited the perfect harmony of Eric Nam's smooth R&B pop vocals with that of Somi's sweet tone as one of the main strengths of the single. The retro theme of the MV that was reminiscent of Wes Anderson movies served as the perfect backdrop as Nam and Somi cruised on a road trip, singing the snappy, upbeat melody which immediately inspires happy vibes among the listeners.
The collaboration with Eric Nam is 16-year old Somi's first endeavor as a solo artist under JYP Entertainment. It can be recalled that the K-pop group I.O.I disbanded only this January. Many of the youtube commenters complimented Somi for her mature sound and wished her well for her solo career.
A lot of fans were also asking for an English version of the upbeat song. "This song is sooo good. Need an English version of this," said one commenter which was supported by fellow fans.
Meanwhile, following success of his international collaborations with Gallant and Tablo for the track Cave Me In as well as his team up with Timbaland for "Body", Eric Nam is expected to release his comeback mini album this month, according to Soompi.
Eric Nam's second mini album will be entitled "Interview" which will be released on March 24. His agency, in a statement said that Eric worked hard on the album despite his busy schedule and promised his fans that it will show different sides of Nam as an artist.
