WATCH: Day6 stuns internet with amazing cover of Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You'

Fans can always expect something new with K-pop idol group Day6 with their monthly releases for 2017 but a recent radio guesting showed another facet of the group. The boys -- Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon performed a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You."

According to a report by SBS Pop Asia, Day6 performed the gorgeous cover live during a guesting at 89.1 Cool FM. Day6 used their melodious harmonies, two guitars, a cajon, an organ and a shaker to pull off the Ed Sheeran hit. The boys' slight accent in the performance of the song also gave the song an added spice that made the song more interesting.

This was not the first time that Day6 performed a live cover of a hit song from international artists as they also did justice to Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself." Day6 also did a cover of Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" to great success.

Many fans are already requesting for Day6 to do covers of their favorite international hits. Some of the messages on the thread are already asking the boys to perform "Cold" from Maroon 5, "Monster" from The Weeknd, and even "Hands to Myself" by Selena Gomez. The latter would be quite interesting to spin as it was originally performed by a woman.

Based on a report by Billboard, Day6 started the year strong with the release of two new singles "I Wait" and "Goodbye Winter." "I Wait" ranked third in Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart while "Goodbye Winter" followed closely at #6.

Day6 is not the only K-pop idol group to perform covers. Most recently, BTS' Jungkook performed a beautiful cover of Charlie Puth's "We Don't Talk Anymore." After being tagged by a fan on the audio clip of the cover, Charlie Puth tweeted how impressed he was with Jungkook's version. His arrangement, along with the fact that he performed the entire song by himself earned the BTS member a thumbs up from the original singer, Kpopstarz reported.
