Sandara Park News: Former 2NE1 Member Praised For Her Acting & Thoughtfulness On Set of 'One Step'

Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park is giving her all in promoting her first Korean movie "One Step" and is excited to show fans the result of her hard work. While she admits that her first leading role was a challenge, she said that the entire team worked together to come out with a good movie that fans would enjoy.

In the press conference for the film, accalaimed director Jeon Jae Hong praised Sandara for her acting. He said he appreciated the K-pop's effort in doing a good job and said that it was really tough to play a lead role in a film, All Kpop reported.

Sandara's co-star Han Jae Suk, a veteran actor of Korean movies and dramas like "All About Eve" and "Four Sisters", agreed with the director and said that that Sandara had a very infectious positive vibe that made the workplace very fun. He said that while it was his first time to work with the former 2NE1 singer, he said her thoughtfulness made it vey easy to feel at ease with her.

Sandara admitted that she initially agreed to the role because it was a music based project, something she was very comfortable with as a former part of a K-pop group. However, since her role entailed the portrayal of "colored hearing amnesia", which is a new concept, she had to dig really deep to make sure she delivered on the role.

"Instead of seeing it as a burden, I feel like this is a new approach for me," Sandara said. "Although I may be lacking a lot, I will do my best. Please look forward to this film."

"One Step" which was originally a crowdfunding initiative, managed to achieve half of of its budget goals in just two hours. In the space of one day, the movie had enough investors to greenlight the film, mainly owing to Sandara's popularity and director Jeon Jae Hong's involvement in the film, Kpopstarz reported.

Touted as the Korean version of "Begin Again," Sandara will play the role of Si Hyun, an amnesiac who sees sounds in color. Han Jae Suk will play the part of Jee Il, a famous composer looking for inspiration. He will help Si Hyun regain her memories by helping her complete a melody that haunts her in her sleep.

Director Jeon Jae Hong said fans should watch out for how they depicted "color hearing amnesia". The film comes out in Korea on April 6.
