Ji Hyun-woo Offered Lead Male Role In Weekend Drama 'Thief-nom, Thief-nim;' See Details Here

Although a female lead (Seohyun) has already been confirmed for the family drama "Thief-nom, Thief-nim," it looks like MBC is currently carefully watching around for a male lead for the upcoming drama. However, the first casting offer is already out to Ji Hyun-woo (Wanted), who is now favorably considered.

According to Kdramakisses, the offer is out to Ji Hyun Woo, who is sought to star in the upcoming 50-episode weekend family drama "Thief-nom, Thief-nim" also known as"Bad Thief, Good Thief." The upcoming drama is reported to be about a group of thieves who will team up to stop corruption and bring it to a minimal level.

The drama is described as a refreshingly cathartic drama where a group of thieves come together to bring down the corrupt forces that control the entirety of Korea's economics and politics. Ji Hyun-woo will be working with SNSD's Seohyun (Ruby Ruby Love), who earlier signed on this month.

According to the storyline of the drama, Seohyun will portray the role of a hard-working police investigator driven by a strong sense of justice. She will do whatever it takes to get criminals arrested, as she plays the role of a character who is against oppression and also a protector of the feeble. Although the details of Ji Hyun-woo's potential character is yet to be released, fans can expect to see something interesting.

Meanwhile, fans are in suspense, considering the fact that Ji Hyun-woo only played the role of a police officer in "Wanted," but it is believed that maybe it will be a familiar territory. Other fans are optimistic given that Ji Hyun-woo starred in some of the Makjang-iest makjangs like "A Thousand Kisses" and "My Precious Child."

Ji Hyun-woo is also no stranger to weekend family dramas, as reported by Dramabeans. In recent times, his works such as "Angry Mom" and "Awl" have been message-filled dramas highlighting important social issues, with his character fighting against the status quo establishment.

Perhaps, it is too much to expect such kind of social awareness from a weekend family drama, though he was so good in them that it would be great development to have Ji Hyun-woo show up in this drama. "Thief-nom, Thief-nim," which will be produced by PD Oh Kyung-hoon (Mom, Home Sweet Home) and written by Sohn Young-mok (Dazzling Temptation) and Cha Yi-young.

Meanwhile, the premise sounds like it could go light and funny, the record of the PD and writers indicate more experience in serious melodrama so it will be an interesting thing to see how this turns out. Finally the 50-episode MBC weekend drama "Thief-nom, Thief-nim" will start airing in May, after the currently airing TV drama Titled "Father, I will Take Care of You."
