Gummy & Jo Jung Suk Still Going Strong, ‘The Quintessential Man’ Songstress Shuts Down Breakup Rumor on ‘Hello Counselor’

Gummy's latest track "The Quintessential Man" apparently got everyone suspected for the worst in her real life relationship with Jo Jung Suk. Even though the track is all about heartbreak, Gummy makes sure that it has nothing to do with her 4-year-relationship with the musical actor.

According to Soompi, the Korean word for quintessential is jung suk, similar to the name of Gummy's boyfriend. The coincidence clearly can be easily misunderstood by many people, who thought the song was about how she ended the relationship with Jo Jung Suk.

Gummy's representative has stated that the lyrics of the new song have nothing to do with Jo Jung Suk. The source added that Gummy and Jo Jung Suk are still in a good term. Gummy also responded to the rumor on the May 22 broadcast of "Hello Counselor", Allkpop reported.

The songstress shuts down the breakup rumor by simply saying she and Jo Jung Suk are still pretty much in love even after all these years.

It turns out Gummy's "The Quintessential Man" initially had a different title but Gummy and her producer eventually came up with the title because it's mentioned several times in the lyrics.

"The Quintessential Man" basically describes a womanizer who thinks every woman would fall to his traps. The track also expresses what men and women think of something that could represent the quintessential man.

Meanwhile, Gummy is set to drop her pre-release track for her upcoming 5th album. Gummy describes her pre-release track as an old school hip-hop song inspired by New York City in the '90s. Gil also contributes to the production of Gummy's upcoming release, while Harim recorded the chorus with Boi.B featured as a rapper.

It is the first time for Gummy to drop a new album after almost 9 years. Gummy aims to try new genres in her upcoming album, so everyone should be excited to embrace the new Gummy in her newest tracks.
