Steve Nash and ex-wife, Alejandra Nash, had an amicable separation and divorce, but now she's trying to move the kids to California so she can get more in child support.

Nash does not want to spoil the kids and has said no to the move.

In April, we told you about the problems between the 39-year-old point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers and his ex-wife.

Alejandra Nash wants to move Nash's kids to California.

But not, as reported by TMZ, so they can be closer to their father, Nash.

Alejandra Nash is making $30,000 a month in child support from Nash already.

Alejandra's auspices claim she's being blocked from moving the kids to California because Nash is too cheap to pay child support, is false.

While it's true Nash signed a lucrative deal with the Los Angeles Lakers last summer that will pay him $27.9 million over three years, he isn't trying to stiff his kids out of that money.

Alejandra has retained a pricey divorce lawyer, using some of Nash's $30,000 monthly payments in an attempt to change the stipulations of their divorce arrangements.

She's going after Nash in both Arizona and California courts, and rightfully, believes she'll get more money in California, where the state courts support women a lot more in divorce proceedings.

But Nash isn't being cheap, he's simply trying to keep his children from becoming spoiled kids like for other athletes and movie stars.

As reported before, Alejandra is an "excessive spender" and Nash wants their children to have a proper prospective on money.

Because Steve Nash and Alejandra Nash are in the middle of court battles in Arizona--where Alejandra and the kids still live--and California--where she's hoping to move and where Nash currently resides--they're barred from talking about the case.

So we'll have to do it for the dynamic Canadian point guard.

Alejandra Nash is already receiving the $30,000 in spousal support and child payments, plus Steve is reportedly paying 90% of medical, school and extracurricular activities for the kids and 82% of their nanny's $2K a month salary.

Steve Nash isn't blocking his kids' move to California because he doesn't want to pay for their upbringing or wants to avoid his family, he's blocking the move because he doesn't want to spoil them.

With Nash already doling out a lot of money to support both his kids and Alejandra, the only reason Alejandra continues to battleher ex-husband in court is to continue her lavish spending.

It's not worth it for Nash to have his kids ruined by wealth as other famous progeny have been.

But he misses his kids, and just because he doesn't want to spoil them doesn't mean he's some sort of deadbeat dad.
