TWICE Achieves Fifth MV to Reach 300 Million Views With "What Is Love?"

Congratulations to TWICE for a new YouTube record with "What Is Love?"

On June 8, 2019, more than a year since the track's release, its music video hit 300 million views! It is now the fifth MV of the girls to achieve this milestone, coming after "TT," "Likey," "Cheer Up," and "Like OOH-AHH."

JYP Entertainment, TWICE's agency, uploaded a special photo on the girl group's social media pages in celebration for the girls' achievement. The company included a caption "Love is ONCE," a sign of their gratitude for the fans who made another feat happen.

Park Jin Young, the CEO, and founder of JYP Entertainment is the one who wrote and produced the track "What Is Love." According to the agency, the song is about the love girls dream of having or imagine after reading books, watching movies or dramas."

The music video earned 100 million views in May 2018, then 200 million in October of the same year. The hit did not only conquer YouTube but charts in South Korea and international as well. It became first place on Gaon's Digital Chart and Billboard Korea's K-Pop Hot 100 Chart.

Moreover, it took the third spot on Billboard's World Digital Songs. Then in Japan, the song was in number five on Oricon's Digital Singles Chart and number six on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 Chart.

Recently, TWICE had a comeback with its seventh extended play titled "Fancy You," with its lead single "Fancy." The album was released on April 22, 2019. With this EP, TWICE became the best-selling girl group in South Korea, beating both the album sales of S.E.S and Girls' Generation.

Much like the previous songs and MVs of TWICE, "Fancy" has captured many hearts with its catchy lines and beat, giving that retro-pop feel with a modern mix. In fact, its MV becomes the seventh most-viewed video on YouTube within 24 hours upon its release with 42.1 million views.

Meanwhile, TWICE is having their third world tour called "TWICELIGHTS." It started at KSPO Dome in Seoul on May 25 and 26. Next, are Southeast Asian cities. First is at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok on June 15, at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on June 29, and at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on July 13.

Afterward, TWICE will be heading to United States cities. On July 17 at The Forum in Los Angeles, at Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City on July 19, at Prudential Center in Newark on July 21, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on July 23, then back to Asia in Kuala Lumpur on August 17 at Axiata Arena.
