On the June 28 episode of KBS2 "relay" entertainment show, the topic being discussed is the most recent suspicions and investigations concerning former YG Entertainment producer Yang Hyun Suk.
KBS2 reporter Lee Hwa Jin uncovered on the program that Yang Hyun Suk was able to build a company owing to the money gained from entertaining foreign investors by means of illegal nightlife. As stated by MBC 'Straight', the former YG producer had transactions with Malaysian billionaire Jho Low, when Yang allegedly provided prostitutes for the billionaire at a dinner party in 2014, with the help of his friend "Madam Jung."
Reporter Lee then stated that Yang Hyun Suk has always been engaged in illegal night business. He also mentioned that Yang satisfies the investors with red-light district and nightlife entertainment. The reporter then said, "He was able to establish the YG Entertainment today by expending hundreds of thousands of dollars entertaining these people."
Also present in the show is Han So Hee's lawyer Bang Jung Hyun. He revealed that Yang Hyun Suk is very much engaged in illicit night jobs. Jung Hyun even said that Hyun Suk is known as the "Mansour" of night amusement. He continued and stated, "He only utilizes the money to settle these transactions to prevent from being traced."
For the time being, police have discovered files that support the issue about Yang Hyun Suk arranging prostitutes for Jho Low at his dinner party in July 2014 but unveiled that the enactment of limitations will expire before July ends, and are currently examining the case.
Yang Hyun Suk earned fame when he became a member of Seo Taiji and Boys in the 1990s. When the members parted ways, he founded and became the chief executive officer of YG Entertainment, one of the most well-known record companies in South Korea.
In 1996, Yang Hyun Suk built YG and released his first solo album, in which his fellow member Seo Taiji composed one song. Hyun Suk produced some of the best and most successful K-pop groups in the music industry, such as Jinusean, 1TYM, Seven, Psy, Tablo, Big Bang, 2NE1, Winner, iKon, Epik High, and Blackpink.
As of this year 2019, YG has eight active K-pop groups, six active sub-units, and thirteen solo artists. Also, YG Entertainment's subsidiaries The Black Label has fifteen active independent artists, while YGX has three.
