K-pop collective SEVENTEEN is all-set to give Carats the time of their lives as they are slated to unveil a new album soon after their chart-topping song “Hit” was released earlier this month.
In a surprise announcement made last August 12, their agency Pledis Entertainment revealed that the group — composed of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino — will drop a new full-length effort this September 16.
The statement from the agency comes shortly after they premiered a teaser titled “An Ode 2: Fear.” Apart from featuring clips from their previously-released prologue film called “An Ode 1: Unchained Melody,” the video displays a darker side of the K-pop gents.
Staying true to the title of their surprise teaser, the members of SEVENTEEN are all seen wearing fearful emotions that relay a mysterious and thrilling atmosphere. This concept veers away from the usually bright images they portray in their musical comebacks.
On the web, the teaser was welcomed with posts of excitement and anticipation from Carats.
A YouTuber with username Alex LCarat left a comment saying, “Conclusion: There will be another amazing bop. ‘Hit’ is just a teaser.”
Hajnal Aur, another netizen, meanwhile asked for continued support from fellow Carats as a way to repay the hard work shown by SEVENTEEN especially during this year’s summer comeback.
“SEVENTEEN is putting out the best of themselves, and we Carats better support them in…every way,” the YouTuber shared.
The group’s upcoming full-length album serves as the third of its kind that the boy band will release. In April 2016, their debut studio record called “Love & Letter” arrived, peaking at the top spot of the Gaon Album Chart.
Their last full-length record “Teen, Age” was released in November the following year. It also topped the abovementioned chart and further made waves in the global scene as it reigned over the Billboard World Albums Chart.
SEVENTEEN also lists a total of seven mini-albums under their belt, the latest of which — “You Made My Dawn” — was released earlier in January this year.
