Unfortunately, Wheein won't be able to partake in her group's performance due to health reasons. This being said, their agency RBW Entertainment released a statement regarding her condition and also asked for the fans' understanding.
The full statement reads:
"Hello, this is RBW.
We are writing to inform you that MAMAMOO's Wheein will not be able to participate in KCON 2019 LA. The members of MAMAMOO were in the airport and waiting to board after going through immigration when Wheein expressed that she was suffering from sudden dizziness and was not feeling well.
She has been moved to the hospital where she has been resting and has undergone a detailed examination. Though we have not received an exact diagnosis of her condition, her dizziness has improved greatly with rest, and we are currently awaiting the results of her examination.
Wheein wishes to board a plane and attend the schedule as planned in order to keep her promise with fans, but the members and our agency were concerned that the long flight may worsen her condition and that what she needs right now is rest. Therefore, we regret to inform you that Wheein will not be participating in KCON 2019 LA.
We ask for your understanding, and we will do our best to ensure that Wheein's condition does not worsen and that she can recover as soon as possible.
Thank you."
In spite of her absence, the rest of her members Hwasa, Solar, and Moonbyul will surely fill the void as every member of MAMAMOO is born performer and vocally adept. As a matter of fact, the quartet just recently made a superb opening performance in the televised girl group competition titled Queendom, where they are currently contending with four other artists Lovelyz, AOA, (G)I-DLE, Oh My Girl, and Park Bom.
Other groups who will pull off a dynamic stage tonight at KCON LA are Chung Ha, Itzy, Fromis_9, Seventeen, N.Flying, Verivery, and Stray Kids. Meanwhile, groups AB6IX, Iz*One, ATEEZ, Momoland, Loona, Oneus, NU'EST, and SF9 built the lineup for the first night.
