On Instagram, Paris Starn published a screenshot of Red Velvet's official IG account showcasing their outfits for the title song. Paris then wrote quite a lengthy caption and addressed SM Entertainment for allegedly plagiarizing her designs.
"Greatly appreciate so many of you bringing to my attention K-pop group [Red Velvet] wearing garments that take heavy "inspiration" from my work. No one on the team [SM Town] ever reached out to collaborate on designs, which I would have loved to participate in.
The company also took from our imagery which we created with artist [at]ondine.vinao. It deeply hurts to see large groups that could have helped out a small designer, instead take from our hard work and brand it as their own. Check out our story for my examples," the statement reads.

Scrolling through the designer's page, one can see the similarities of the girl group's clothing concept to Paris 99's dress, which was posted around September of 2018. The get-up is checkered and features wavy stripes on the edges.
