We've seen Sunmi sporting a black hairdo on her last EP, "Warning," and blonde locks on her latest comeback "LALALAY." We can't deny though that both of these look good on her, which is why we can relate to Sunmi herself in case she can't pick what's better between these two styles.
Just recently, Sunmi crowd-sourced on her Instagram page to ask her fans which of the two hairdos do they prefer more. She shared a photo of her blonde hair and another snap in black hair, set in one frame. But as the discussion on the comments thread continued, Sunmi wrote a reply under her own post as well, seemingly the continuation of her original query.
"Or bald [crying emoji]," she said.
Her comment garnered a lot of likes. Most probably, her fans found it hilarious, to begin with. Nevertheless, more and more comments came through. Many said they preferred Sunmi with dark hair, while some said she also looks good in blonde crowning glory.
In the end, she ruled out that her "blonde era is now over."
Earlier this month, Sunmi graced the MBC program "Radio Star" where she opened up about her style when it comes to dating as well as a tidbit of detail about her former agency JYP Entertainment.
During the episode, Ahn Young Mi mentioned that the soloist was famous for bluntly rejecting romantic advances.
"There have been instances like that, and in those cases, I change my number. Also, people around me often ask, 'So-and-so asked me for your number. Can I give it to him?' and I'll say no. That means I've rejected him, but then I'll hear from someone else, '[The same guy] asked me for your number. What should I do?' So one time, I told [my friend], 'Tell him I already have a fiancé,'" She narrated.
"These days, I've been getting DMs on Instagram. I typically don't respond to messages [on social media], but there are people who keep sending me messages on a regular basis. To be honest, those kinds of people scare me a little, so I block them. And [if I receive calls,] I'll change my number," she went on.
It's no secret that Sunmi was a part of the girl group Wonder Girls under JYP Entertainment, but the group broke up in 2017. Now, the former members have created their own paths. Sunmi revealed in "Radio Star" what it was working under the company.
"I decided to start taking part in directing after I left JYP. I even calculated my breaths going in and out. Even my stages are different. J.Y. Park told me not to make any expression while on stage. For '24 Hours Isn't Enough', I didn't even have fake eyelashes. After I left, I make all the expressions I want on stage," the singer revealed.
