The day of their very first album release came and the unveiling of "Jopping" music video, plus their stage debut on the Capitol Records in Hollywood (which was flocked by a massive number of people, as expected), more and more also realized that SuperM has been assembled for a reason.
If somehow you're curious about what this newly-launched boy group can offer, we'd like to tell you that there is actually a lot, but below is three of the many times that they set the bar so high.
1. SuperM is composed of ace members.
EXO, SHINee, NCT 127, and WayV are exceptional groups already, but we can say that bring together members of these groups into a brand new group is out of this world. Kai has been called numerous times as the "face of K-pop" and was recently named as Gucci's Global Ambassador. His bandmate Baekhyun, not only that he's the main vocalist of EXO, but he is also widely-acknowledged as Korea's top vocalist.
Taemin, who's the youngest member of SHINee, is the first idol who debuted in three generations: debuted in a first-generation K-pop group, debuted as a soloist in the third generation, and now he has debuted in the 4th generation group SuperM. But it's noteworthy that Taemin is beyond these records. He wouldn't be debuting three times if he's not a powerful singer and performer.
Of course, Mark and Taeyong wouldn't be left unmentioned. Both are remarkable idols, with Mark who always has it easier to make waves for his rapping and innate swag, and Taeyong who's the leader and the main dancer of NCT 127. The group just concluded their world tour earlier this year.
WayV was launched in January this year as the fourth sub-unit and the China-based unit of NCT. Out of this septet, Ten, WayV's main dancer and rapper, and Lucas, the group's lead rapper and visual, were chosen to complete the line-up of SuperM. Not gonna lie though, SM and Capitol made an excellent move on selecting these two all-rounders.
2. The self-titled album is *chef's kiss*.
SuperM just debuted and they are already proving their excellency. Their five-track album is a huge proof of their versatility, and matching each of the songs with ferocious choreography is truly beyond comparison, not to mention that the music video of "Jopping" won't fail to make you awestruck.
Our top picks are "Jopping" and "I Can't Stand The Rain," but if you're itching to have that powerful mood, check out "Super Car." Or, if you want to just chill, give "No Manners" and "2 Fast" a listen.
3. Their live performances will leave you floored.
We mentioned about the supergroup having existing fans, but SuperM is honestly attracting new gigantic numbers of stans - and, we'll never know, these new ones will check out the septet's original groups. Thus, we're winning here. Also, allow us to say thanks to how amazing they perform live. Like, really, they didn't do lip sync in their recent performance of "Jopping" and "I Can't Stand The Rain" on Ellen. If you haven't watched it, you better should. SuperM really didn't come to play with their fierce choreography, live vocals, and Baekhyun's high note (and holding it!).
We can't wait to see more of SuperM in the near future.
