BTS member J-Hope broke records with just one hit single and became the first artist to be featured in many different charts across the world. The most impressive one is he debuted the track Chicken Noodle Soup at No. 81 on the all-genre Hot 100, which is widely regarded as the most important song chart in America.
Here are three things why BTS's J-Hope made history on the Hot 100 last week with his single "Chicken Noodle Soup."
Rank Third as K-Pop Soloist To Chart
Talking about all K-pop acts, seven different names from the genre who have reached the Hot 100 at least once: BTS, J-Hope, Blackpink, CL, Pinkfong, Psy and Wonder Girls. Among these Kpop Idols, just three work on their own, with J-Hope being the latest to find space on the chart.
The first-ever Korean solo artist that land to Hot 100 was Psy. He placed several hits with his behemoth song "Gangnam Style" onto the list in 2012. CL became the second Korean soloist to hit the chart in 2015. J-Hope is now the only one of the three who has only placed a single track to the Hot 100, though it's reasonable to expect that may change in time.
BTS easily went on top being the K-pop group with the most Hot 100 appearances, with seven placement. Now that he's added one of his own tracks to that count, J-Hope moves ahead with his bandmates to become as the Korean musician with the most placements on the tally, with eight.
The Korean Solo Who First Chart And With A Group
He is also the first Korean Solo who first make it on the chart and also in a group act. J-Hope has capture US with his catchy song "Chicken Noodle Soup," featuring Becky G. Fellow BTS member RM also released his solo album mono last year, but none of the songs were able to reach the Hot 100.
