The police are currently investigating producing directors(PD) of 'Produce X101' to check if they had any monetary transactions as an exchange for winning. All of their bank accounts were scrutinized.
As netizens' suspicion grew in regards to Mnet's 'Produce X101' vote manipulation, the police enlarged investigation into whether there was a monetary transaction between the PDs and the production teams.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the police recently checked all the bank accounts of producing directors of Mnet's 'Produce X'. In regards to the monetary transaction, they said, "We've checked the bank accounts of the PDs. There are still additional matters we have to look into so we cannot confirm or deny at this time whether there were any monetary transactions."
The police are also investigating entertainment companies that are allegedly involved. They are looking into every possible party that could be involved in vote manipulation.
Mnet's 'Produce X' vote manipulation controversy began on the day of final competition when the text votes were announced during the live broadcast. Netizens found suspicious numbers repeating in the ranking.
Recently, another controversy related to Idol School, Mnet's other idol audition program, rose to give additional suspicions on further corruption. The police investigation continues to extend to encompass all four seasons of the program.
