The much-awaited 4th debut anniversary of TWICE became much more momentous because of the surprise appearance of Mina. On Sunday, October 20, ONCEs were pleased to see the "National Girl Group" as nine-clad in amusing costumes-as they altogether celebrated the milestone.
In an official statement released, JYP Entertainment talked about whether Mina will be partaking in TWICE's future schedule of activities.
"Mina herself personally wanted to join the fans for the fourth-anniversary fan meeting. After discussions with the members, we decided that she would start by participating in the performances," the agency wrote.
"Her future schedule has not yet been decided. As we previously announced, [her decision to participate in TWICE's activities] can change depending on her condition [at the time], and we will prioritize the state of her health above all else when coming to a decision," JYPE went on.
Previously, JYPE disclosed through a statement that Mina is diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, causing her to sit out the group's promotions and remaining activities.
The agency stated:
"Hello. This is JYPE.
This is an additional notice on the state of Mina's health.
After checking with specialized medical institutions, it was confirmed that anxiety disorder is the diagnosis of Mina's current health condition.
The major characteristics of the symptoms for this are continuous anxiety or intermittent anxiety that occurs unexpectedly and also abrupt changes in the level of anxiety.
Based on this variable situation, Mina's participation in scheduled activities is being decided through discussion with Mina herself and the members. In addition, Mina's participation in activities has to be decided entirely based on the objective state of Mina's health, so we ask for the understanding of fans on the decisions inevitably being partially selective.
We will continuously take all possible measures for Mina's recovery. We ask for the support and interest of fans."
Mina took part in the "Feel Special" album recording and music video filming, but she did not participate in the promotions. During the album showcase, Momo shared: "Mina isn't able to participate in promotions this time, but we're happy that she shot the music video with us. The most important thing is that she gets well, so I hope that she can join us when she's healthy."
She also joined in on the "Fake & True" music video, but she was not in the dance breaks, which is understandable.
Meanwhile, TWICE is slated to commence the Japanese leg of their world tour, "TWICELIGHTS," which will start in Hokkaido on Wednesday, October 23. Further, the nonet is polishing their second Japanese album "&TWICE," with the title song "Fake & True."
