BTS Jungkook was involved in a traffic accident and has violated the Road Traffic Act. On November 5, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul has released a statement regarding the traffic accident. They said, "It is true that Jungkook has violated the Road Traffic Act. However, since the prosecution has not made a decision, charges haven't been filed yet.
We also haven't released any formal reports yet, so the rumors that Jungkook committed a signal violation didn't come from us. We don't know who said that." The Yongsan Police Station also gave an update with regards to the progression of the case. They said, "We have already gathered the cctv and the car's black box. We are currently investigating these items to check if Joongkook has indeed committed any of the 12 car accident violation laws. We will give proper penalty accordingto the seriousness of the violation."
"If there are any people who got seriously injured, there is a possibility for a greater penalty, but so far, there are none reported. If there are only physical damages, Jungkook may be required to pay administrative fines and settlements."
"If the taxi driver submits a medical certificate, Jungkook may be liable for criminal damages. We will also consider the degree of injury."
They ended their statement with, "it may take us about a month for the investigation to finish. As of now, there are no fixed summons. The taxi driver hasn't submitted a medical certificate as well."
