BUSTERS' leader and main dancer Minji will be leaving the group.
The agency added, "We have worked hard to accomplish our artists' individual activities, and we have provided roles and tasks that suit each of the members' personalities. Minji partook in a Fashion Week event, and we were busy with trying to get her a minor role in a television show, but it appears that these have not pleased their demands."
Marbling Entertainment then mentioned that they respected Minji's parents' opinions and talked about the date of her departure. The label planned to give Minji enough time to say goodbye to the fans, so they consulted with her parents. The first plan was to announce the singer's departure before November ends, which would give her time to meet her fans one last time through a Makestar fan meeting and a second-anniversary concert on December 14.
However, the agency's plan for Minji's last activities was canceled because her parents said that it would be impossible for the idol to carry on with her promotions. So, Marbling Entertainment chose to terminate her contract without any demands.
The company later stated, "In the meantime, Busters will continue their activities as a four-piece group, and at the moment, we are tackling when to unveil the new member." They ended their statement apologizing again to the fans and asked the people to stop spreading false news about the situation. Also, they asked the fans to give warm support and encouragement to Minji and Busters.
Minji is the second member to leave BUSTERS this year after Minjung, who parted ways with the group and the agency last January 26.
BUSTERS was created to advertise Monstergram's television series titled "Idol Rangers Power Busters." The female group made their debut in November 2017 with the single labeled "Dream On." Their first comeback happened in June 2018 with their second track "Grapes." After Minjung left in January 2019, Yeseo was added to the group at the end of that month. Then, this past July, BUSTERS had their second comeback with their first extended play "Pinky Promise," which is their first release with Yeseo.
