On this day, BTS is officially the new face of Formula E, and this set as another achievement for the hottest Korean male group for becoming a global ambassador. A photo was released along with this announcement, and the seven members were stunningly and equally handsome wearing their formal suits, and posing with a Formula E race car.
The team-up between the worldwide known brand and the trendsetter group is aiming to bring and raise awareness regarding air pollution, which causes climate change. Through BTS shining in the limelight, the company is hoping to extend this goal through its rays around the globe.
According to the company's official statement released, "Both Formula E and BTS hope to inspire the future generation and the millions of young fans to embrace clean energy and become future drivers of electric vehicles."
BTS will be addressing this environmental issue through the ABB FIA Formula E Racing Championship, a series of car racing using electric cars, which is a big leap on avoiding smoke emissions than can be considered as a significant risk factor contributing to pollution in the air.
Fans and supporters of the K-pop group, especially ARMYs were already showing their all-out support to this advocacy BTS is about to do, which is also the purpose of Formula E for getting BTS as ambassadors-influencing people to support and spread this mission, for the environment as well as for the people.
In addition to Formula E's statement, the CEO of the brand, Jamie Reigle, also pointed out the vast fandom BTS has, which is a positive start. "BTS has created active fan base that is highly passionate about social issues, and thus, we share a common desire to raise awareness of the threat of climate change."
Moreover, because of this good goal and news that already becomes a trending topic, KBS will be airing the street motor race that will be held in Seoul next year, particularly in May, and will be taking place at Olympic Stadium and Jamsil Sports Complex.
This movement against climate change will be added to the list of advocacy BTS has been pursuing ever since the peak of their career along with their promotion of self-love, Anti Violence Campaign against children, anti-bullying, and their #Speak Yourself advocacy supporting the third sex. The group already proved successful outcomes after promoting these issues and hoping to help more people along time.
On the other hand, BTS is expected to welcome the new year at "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" at Times Square. Last year, BTS pre-recorded their performance for the show. But, this year, they will be celebrating the new year live in the US, together with their international fans and will be performing alongside Alanis Morisette, Post Malone, Sam Hunt, and others.
Also, BTS will be doing a special stage for MBC Gayo Daejejun as well, and they will be the one who will be opening the show with their Christmas Carol stage together with other K-pop female and male performers.
