Are ARMYs ready for Jin's upcoming military enlistment? A question that has been raised throughout the fandom. Though, nothing has been decided yet, during the press conference for BTS' new release album "MAP OF THE SOUL:7", the member of the group Jin, talked about his military service that is set to happen this 2020.

On the 24th of February, a press conference in Seoul was held by the worldwide superstar BTS, following their successful comeback and release of their new album "MAP OF THE SOUL:7" and music video, "ON." Though the audience was limited only to the host and staff due to the new Corona Virus, which was already affecting approximately 900 Koreans, BTS do their best to answer every question being thrown to them.

As the conference started, the members introduced themselves, and Jimin asked apology for the fans who weren't able to attend the event because of some restrictions. However, the press conference was set to the public via YouTube stream to interact indirectly with the fans and netizens who want to participate in the event.

During the press conference, several questions were raised coming from global and domestic press and reporters; however, questions were only popped in the big screen, and those questions approved only by Big Hit will be answered.

When asked about the definition of their new album and its difference to their past records, Jin talked about MAP OF THE SOUL:7, wherein the number "7" speaks huge volumes for this year marks their 7th year as a seven-member group as well.

"Looking back, we sang around the world, and our image in our last album is Persona. This time, we wanted to show something different, what we have done, and our emotions now."

"We reveal our deeper selves that we wanted to hide," he added.

Meanwhile, as topics were being raised smoothly, a question about Jin's enlistment appeared.

"Therefore, the time you have left together as a group is presumably quite important, but the eldest, Jin, will be enlisting soon and so you may not have a lot of time as seven. What are your thoughts on military enlistment, and want can we expect from BTS after they enlist?"

Jin then answered, "Nothing has been decided yet, and this is a sensitive topic, but I believe that military service is a duty, if I am called, I am ready to serve anytime. And if things are decided, I will try to do the best that I can."

BTS Jin, born on the 4th of December, 1992, is currently 29 years old in Korean age. It's a law that all men reaching their 30s must comply with the compulsory military enlistment. Internationally, when a Male Korean reach the age of 28, they have to enter the military and serve their country, meaning this year, Jin has to go (currently 27 years old internationally). An exemption has been in talks, though; unfortunately, only musicians and athletes that won an International competition can be exempted, excluding K-pop idols.
