While the current trainees who are rumored to complete YG Entertainment's new girl group have surfaced on the internet, K-pop fanatics are pondering on the details behind the presumed group name. Veteran K-pop enthusiasts who have followed the industry from the first or second generation artists have made an analysis based on the current trends as an attempt to figure out the debuting band's vibe and overall concept.
It was also rumored that the upcoming group is in contrast to one of YG Entertainment's flagship group BLACKPINK, probably to set a new flavor. Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo exude fierce aura and their music oozes feminine power, while the forthcoming band might be comprised of sweet, young ladies: Thus, this suggests a name that would complement their aura.
YG Entertainment's Trademark application
Certainly, the 'cute girl' concept makes sense as the agency's Trademark application's name was revealed after a photo surfaced on the web, dated February of this year and coincidental to the time when they have confirmed the progress of the upcoming group.
In the collaged photo, nine teens are shown and are expected to be really talented, given that they're about to debut as idols under one of the 'Big 3' companies.
Baby Monsters?
Others say that these girls will debut under the name 'Baby Monsters', a longer version of Baemon. During the last quarter of 2018, keen-eyed fans divulged the name of the debuting JYP Entertainment's ITZY through their Trademark application. However, some remain skeptical about Baby Monsters.
BLACKPINK debuted under a different name
For those who aren't aware, the four-piece outfit was supposed to debut with another name, which is 'PINK PUNK'. This came to light when the lead vocalist Jisoo hinted it in an interview. Hence, there is still a possibility that the speculations surrounding the info behind the debuting group might be taken down.
Nonetheless, many are convinced that these girls' band name will push through. Presumably, they will target young men and women with their 'girl-next-door' guise.
In a previous article, YG Entertainment revealed that a new girl group will be launched in the middle of this year. Blinks, on the other hand, are on the edge of their seats to BLACKPINK's confirmed comeback.
