On the 26th of March, a 16-year-old boy under the alias name of 'Pacific Ocean" was arrested, as he sought the police himself, revealing that he is one of the accomplices of the controversial "Nth Room" sex abuse case.
According to the reports of the Seoul Metropolitan Police, the young man is said to be one of the main operators of the Telegram "Nth Chatroom," a platform sharing videos and illicit contents involving adolescent female sexual abuse and exploitation.
Based on the testimony of 'Pacific Ocean', the underage age suspect was running a separate chatroom called, "Pacific Ocean Expedition", which his role is to distribute illegal, inappropriate videos and juvenile materials.
The minor suspect was arrested on the 20th, and according to the investigations, he started operating since 2019 and ran the room with 8,000 to 10,000 registered users.
On January, Jo Joo Bin's crime has been revealed, and 'Pacific Ocean', turned himself over the police and investigations started on the same month. However, he didn't stop his illicit work, as he told the paid users and clients to use Wire Application instead, (for Telegram has been under investigations), to be able to receive their orders containing sexual videos. The video will be accessible once the client received an invite-only chat room entry passes.
The 16-year-old boy is currently under the custody of the police, along with Jo Joo Bin, the perpetrator of the chatrooms as well as with the other accomplices.
Meanwhile, this shocking news of having a minor chat operator is still bearable, but when the news sparks regarding the 9-year-old girl who was made into a sex "slave", netizens can't help themselves but demand a death penalty over the suspects.
According to the Korean press, a chatroom called, "Godam Chatroom" which is operated by a man under the nickname, "Watchman" has been distributing explicit contents involving minors. But what is most shocking news is that a 9-year old girl, who was supposed to be studying and playing with her friends, has been sexually abused and experience violence instead.
Korean idols and celebrities had been expressing their support for the victims then by signing a petition on the Blue House, which has currently over 2.3 Million signs.
K-pop idols have been using their influence through sharing the petition through their social media, intending to reach a larger scale of viewers. EXO, VIXX, Girl's Day, EXID, MOMOLAND, BTS, Brown Eyed Girls members already asked their fans to join the petition as well, to be able to reveal every single person involved in the sexual crimes.
On the 25th, Actress Park Bo Young, said, "In order for the offenders to receive proper punishment, for the victims to feel comfort, everyone, please sign the petition. This will not take too long. We have to take action in order to make small changes. Thank you!"
Seoul Police Already created a special team, to expose the 260,000 men involved in the "nth Chatroom" case, as well as the operators of the chatrooms.
