Despite the age-old rivalry amongst celebrity rappers and hip-hop artists, online users debated which idol rappers could theoretically qualify as hip hop rappers, "overtaking the level of most other artists."

(G)I-DLE's Soyeon
Jeon Soyeon is a South Korean rapper, composer and recording artist affiliated to Cube Entertainment, best known as Soyeon. Prior to her solo debut on November 5, 2017, and eventually becoming the leader of the girl group (G)I-dle, she gained publicity for participating in TV shows Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar in May 2018.

Mark Lee also commonly known as Mark is a South Korean-based Canadian rapper and singer-songwriter. He is recognized for being a part of NCT and its NCT U and NCT 127 sub- and formerly NCT Dream, a South Korean boy band. He started his career as a member of the NCT U on 9 April 2016 with the new single "The Seventh Sense." He also belongs to the SuperM Supergroup, which started in October 2019.
WINNER's Song Min Ho
Song Min Ho, namely Mino, was created under YG Entertainment under Mnet's survival program "WIN: Who's Next." He is a rapper, musician, artist, and WINNER boy band member. He marked his solo debut with studio album XX in November 2018, the very first single, entitled "Fiancé," a triumph of Gaon's digital and stream rankings in South Korea in December.
ZICO
Woo Ji-ho is best known for his pseudonym Zico, a South Korean rapper, producer, performer-songwriter, as well as boy band leader of Block B. He had produced three solo albums, "Gallery" (2015), "Television" (2017) and "Thinking" (2019), all of which were launched individually.
Throughout the Korean hip hop scene, Zico is renowned for his strong crossover talents, preserving underground popularity along with the mainstream appeal as a Korean idol. He is also a producer of K-pop and even Korean hip hop tracks.
In 2015, he participated in rap battle television show "Show Me the Money 4" as a producer with Paloalto of Hi-Lite Records, whilst in the sixth season of the series he had been in the production team along with his longstanding colleague and buddy Dean. He is a member of the Fanxy Child hip hop group.
BTS's RM
Kim Nam-Joon is a rapper, composer, and recording artist from South Korea, best known as RM (which used to be Rap Monster). He is both the leader of the BTS boy group in South Korea and the rapper of the band. In 2015, he started his first single RM mixtape. His second mixtape, "Mono," is the biggest hit album on the Billboard 200 chart by a Korean soloist as of October 2018, peaking at 26. He has recorded with artists like Wale, Warren G, Gaeko, Krizz Kaliko, MFBTY, Fall Out Boy, Main, and Lil Nas X.
