Apink is a South Korean girl band established by Play M Entertainment. The group debuted on April 19, 2011, featuring Apink's extended play (EP) "Seven Springs" and seven members: Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eun-ji, Son Na-eun, Hong Yoo-kyung, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young. In April of 2013, Hong left the group to concentrate on her academics.

Apink has gained recognition since its inception in shows such as the Golden Disc Awards, the Music Awards of Seoul and the Asian Music Awards of Mnet. They first won another music program title for "My My" on their second EP, Snow White, at M Countdown on January 5, 2012.

Apink has produced eight Korean mini-albums, three studio albums in Korea and three studio albums in Japan to date.

APINK's MUSIC STYLE

Apink's picture and style of music are frequently compared to the first generation groups S.E.S. and Fin. K.L. Apink is innocent and girlish, rare among sexy conceptions of girl groups.

In 2012, Oh Ha-young said, "Many girl groups nowadays have a tendency to show off their dancing skills and sexy look, but our concept has been an innocent and pure image."

However, releases like "Luv" in 2014 and "Remember" in 2015 have differed from the group and maintained their signature on an even more sophisticated and sensitive level.

The music of Apink typically falls into the pop genre of bubblegum with signed cheery lyrics.

Jeff Benjamin from Billboards commented that "My My" recalled Bubblegum Pop in the early 2000s. "NoNoNo" has been inspired by Synth-Pop in the 80s, and "Luv" recalls hip-hop from the 90s when incorporating ballad melancholy, a song about a lost love, a fall-thematic track. "Mr. Chu," which was released in the spring of 2014, follows Apink's "very Apink" trait.

Their 2016 hit "Just One" is defined as sophisticated, merging R&B and dance-pop with subtle hip-hop rhythm, while "Boom Pow Love" has a much more urban and energetic atmosphere and breathtaking beats compared to their past hits.

Apink made a shift in their musical style toward more refined and sophisticated sounds with the release of 2018's "I'm So Sick." The track is much firmer than what is familiar to Apink, with its self-tune, synth and house beats and its lyrical content, which makes "I'm So Sick" not even one bit more feeling left for an ex.

The "percentage (Eung Eung)" in 2019 does almost the same. Its use of "Izzy synths, snapping beats, and striking drums as members sing about the sort of person one should love" makes another song (Eung Eung) %% away from much of the earlier work of Apink.

Apink began with a documentary show titled Apink News, which broadcast for three seasons (2011-2012) on the cable channel TrendE.
