Supernova's Yoon-hak Confirmed as COVID-19 Positive: First Korean Celebrity Infected

K-pop idol Yoon-hak of Supernova revealed to be infected of coronavirus, as per the confirmation of his label SV Records.

On April 3, SV Records informed the public that he was tested and found out to be positive of the said virus. He is currently under treatment at a hospital in Seoul.

The full statement reads:

"On the 24th March, Yunhak arrived in Korea from Japan after finishing his commitments, and 2 days ago, on April 1, he is confirmed as positive of Coronavirus.

According to his results, it shows that he is having a mild case of the said infection, and he is currently admitted in the Hospital for treatment. We believe it will be possible for him to be cured fast since the symptoms are light.

We will stop all his commitments for quite some time and focus on the treatment and recovery."

This is the first time that a K-pop star is declared a coronavirus positive. While the fight against the pandemic is ongoing, there are instances that celebrities would get exposure to the health threat. South Korea is one of the countries that has the most numbers of cases in the world.

Netizens were shocked and expressed their concern over Yoon-hak's current condition.

The 35-year old idol, who is a member of the boyband Supernova, were also featured in several Korean drama series such as Fates & Furies (2018-2019), My Unfortunate Boyfriend (2015) and Sign (2011). He officially debuted in the group in 2007. He enlisted on October 2011 and successfully finished his military service on July 24, 2013.

The current global crisis has claimed over 40,000 lives and infected over 800,000. More than 100,000 have recovered.

South Korean celebrities have been consistent about their support to aid the people and totally eradicate the virus. A number of personalities have donated a huge sum to support the advocacy of the nation.
