The statement reads:
"On April 1, Kang Ji-young rode her way home after finishing her filming activity with her latest drama, 'Late-Night Snack Man and Woman' (literal title) when she met a car accident of which she suffered. As of the moment, she is treated in a medical facility."
It was also known that the reckless driver who is under the influence of alcohol caused the car accident.
"The driver who is responsible for the car collision is found out to be drunk while driving his vehicle. (Kang Ji-young) suffered minor wounds and is now in the process of her healing and rehabilitation," the agency added.
Due to this, her filming commitments will be on a halt for her swift recovery. She will be resuming on her usual duties after she is fully healed.
Drunk driving is one of the root causes of car accidents along roads, especially at night. A significant percentage of most collisions are brought by those drivers who still maneuver their vehicles even if they are tipsy. Thus, this becomes a huge prohibition when it comes to the laws on the road.
With this accident, it sheds light to an awareness that driving individuals must understand the rules of the highway, to avoid scenarios such as this. Fortunately, the aftermath in Kang Ji-young's case isn't serious and her fans are relieved.
