Netizens can't help but guess who's the female idol behind the controversial blind item that is currently circulating on social media, after Newsen, a Korean-based news outlet, posted an article about the idol who brought her boyfriend to an overseas trip and later on caused a ruckus to their group and company.
According to the article, a girl group member, which is hidden under the alias name F, is madly in love with her boyfriend and can't live without him. She succeeded in pleading her agency to tag along with her partner on their overseas trip earlier this year for an international event.
However, the event hasn't even started when F caused chaos due to her clumsy boyfriend who forgot to bring his passport on the day of their departure. The agency apparently convinced the female idol to take the plane first, but F was persistent in having the flight if and only her boyfriend was there with her.
Due to this, the agency of the famous K-pop idol changed their flight tickets 13 times, and it cost them ten times as much as 500,000 won. F was late and missed her rehearsal for their performance because of the alleged incident.
However, the blind item stated she was not even sorry and posted a bunch of exotic photos while the group was rehearsing. Thus, the event organizer and hosts of the international event wasn't happy about it, and was disappointed with her for acting like a "fool." As a consequence, the group wasn't paid in full as the host claimed that they had violated the terms that they signed for the event.
As the article draws attention from online users, people had divided thoughts and opinions about the blind item.
Some are saying that the article is groundless and causing a mess within the readers, after mentioning girl group members without receipts.
A commenter said, "I feel sorry for the people who believed this article. Didn't you look for it when [Kim Sejeong] saw the rumor about her here? Please don't be curious about it."
While other netizens are claiming that if the article was true, this is going to be hilarious, saying, "The boyfriend is fool enough to forgot his passport on a trip, but it is funny to call an idol, 'fool.'"
Meanwhile, some Korean netizens are guessing that the girl must be from the first tier female groups, such as GFRIEND, Red Velvet, BLACKPINK, or TWICE.
On the contrary, a fan wrote, "Red Velvet doesn't have any promotion overseas since Wendy's injury. TWICE doesn't have their own social media (where they can post the exotic photos), BLACKPINK seems to be a good guess, but they didn't participate in any event like K-cons. I don't think it's any of the three. GFRIEND doesn't have any dating as well, so I don't think so."
On the other hand, it doesn't matter whether who it was, but netizens explained that the idol was being criticized not because of her dating anyone, but due to her unprofessionalism.
"It's disappointing when someone can't separate professional work and private life," a fan exclaimed.
