MONSTA X sat down on an interview sharing their thoughts on how their band rose to prominence in the United States.
The exclusive interview with Music Choice was answered and attended by band members Minhyuk, Shownu, Kihyun, I.M, and Hyungwon.
When they were asked, "Why did K-pop become popular in the United States?" Hyungwon immediately responded, "I actually thought of it, but I actually do not know why."
The question then was repeated by I.M, to which Shownu replied with, "My Senior and Junior K-pop Idol groups, including ourselves, have been working hard to make it happen. There so many K-pop fans these days, why is that?"
Minhyuk then jumped it and shared, "I think K-pop songs are really catchy," and all the members agreed, nodding their heads.
Kihyun decided to take his turn. He said, "Minhyuk has mentioned this before. Trends are always moving, and that's natural. I personally think it is K-pop's generation. Yes, I think now we are in the generation where K-pop is coming!"

In 2019, MONSTA X will move forth as a six-member unit, Starship Entertainment agency of the band confirmed (Oct. 31 2019). Singer-songwriter Wonho (Shin Ho-Seok) departed from the group in the wake of a string of allegations about his past actions on social networking sites.
"After a long conversation with MONSTA X's member Wonho, we decided that it would be better to separate ways pleasant at this stage," writes a statement from Starship, posted on the agency's official Twitter account in both Korean and English.
"We deeply appreciate Wonho's request to ensure that the subsequent sequence of events does not detract from all the interesting things ongoing for MONSTA X," the agency added.
