The Long-Awaited Comeback of BLACKPINK to Officially Happen in June!

BLACKPINK is finally in your area as they are gearing up for their June comeback!

BLACKPINK revealed that they are set for return in June, as per the exclusive report of Star News on May 4. Both the recent album production work has now been finished, and the production schedule for the music video is currently in progress.
Since the music video shooting, the final phase of the announcement of the new album begins in May, BLACKPINK's comeback is planned from early to mid-June.

This new album is a year and two months after last year's launching of "KILL THIS LOVE" in April, and as this new chapter is about to unfold, the enthusiasm for this much-anticipated comeback increases.

BLACKPINK is known for their hits "WHISTLE" (400 million streams), "BOOMBAYA" (800 million streams), "PLAYING WITH FIRE" (400 million views), "AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST" (700 million views). All their title music videos launched are now over 200 million views, with "STAY" reaching the milestone in later April.

Moreover, the quartet became the first-ever K-pop group to achieve 1.1 billion views on YouTube with "Ddu Ddu Ddu Ddu." Their last comeback music video, "KILL THIS LOVE," currently has over 800 million views, while Jennie's solo track, "SOLO," has 400 million views on YouTube.

If you include BLACKPINK's eight title track music videos, choreography video clips, and music broadcasting materials, they are the only girl band that has a total of 18 billion views.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has boosted their K-pop stature as they participated in Lady Gaga's 6th album "Chromatica" as featured artists in one of the tracks, titled "Sour Candy." The album also features international artists, such as Elton John and Ariana Grande.
BLACKPINK's SCRAPPED COMEBACK

BLACKPINK's return, initially scheduled to be in March 2020, has been delayed due to the risk of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), as per investor sources.

BLINKs were delighted back in January when YG Entertainment announced in a tweet that, around March and April, BLACKPINK would make their return. Another world tour was scheduled to mark the comeback to match the highly successful "In Your Area" concerts.

Instead, at the beginning of February, World Music Awards announced that former YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk himself verified the comeback of BLACKPINK - a new mini-album - should be in mid to late March. As the weeks passed, the anticipation of BLINKs grew as fans sought to speculate precisely when teasers were about to begin.

A large number of K-pop activities have been scrapped for public health and safety, both within and outside the country. Also, previously, it was revealed that the return of the K-pop rock band The Rose would be postponed because of COVID-19. Along with affecting promotional events such as fan signs, the outbreak also slows the development and exports of records.

Although most BLINKs accept that it's safer, fans were distrustful towards YG Entertainment if the agency ever wanted to bring back BLACKPINK in March. After the announcement of WINNER's March return, fans were baffled about how this would impact BLACKPINK preparations.
