On May 6, SEVENTEEN's Jeonghan caused quite a stir on social media after he was caught swearing during his recent V Live broadcast.
During the live stream, the male idol was seen having fun while playing an online game, along with member Dokyeom, or also known as DK, when he hysterically said, "Not yet. Jump!" It was followed by a curse in a casual tone, saying, "It's f*cked."
Jeonghan, who immediately realized what he had said and recognized that he was on a live broadcast, looked at the camera and closed his mouth with a surprised look. He expressed his apology to the viewers saying, "I'm sorry, CARATs. I'm really sorry."
After the V Live broadcast, Jeonghan wrote on his social media account a public apology for the recent incident.
"I'm sorry. CARATs, I will be more careful in the future," he repeatedly apologized. Plus, the video has been immediately deleted on the website.
Meanwhile, fans and netizens who saw the show have a divided opinion about the incident. Some are saying that as an idol, Jeonghan should be more careful starting from now as he also has fans who are underage or minors. Him cursing is not a good example for his young fans.
Some also shared that Jeonghan speaking it so casually sounded like it's a habit for him. Also, netizens are advising him to be cautious even if he is playing a game.
Fans are expecting it to backlash, but on the contrary, several comments remain in favor of Jeonghan. These online users responded by saying, "It's a mistake during the game, but let's not hurt him." They also noted that the male idol already apologized twice as well.
Another fan commented, "An idol is also a person."
Further, according to other reports, netizens are commenting that they want to join the group because of Jeonghan and that SEVENTEEN is having more male fans as it looks cool.
The "cool" part was not that he cursed, but they were amused while Jeonghan was playing the game "Maple Story." Moreover, fans loved how he immediately acknowledged his mistakes and even apologized two times.
SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 with "17 CARAT," and has various hit songs such as "Boom Boom," "Mansae," "Clap," "Very Nice" and "Pretty U." On April 1, he released his second single "Maio Chiru Hanabira" in Japan.
