BTS and Lady Gaga are two of the performers on the upcoming YouTube's virtual graduation ceremony, called "Dear Class of 2020."
The sensational K-pop boy band has been confirmed to be part of the artists who will perform and speak on the online graduation ceremony to be held on YouTube. The said event is to give honor to those supposed to have graduated this year, but because of the current pandemic coronavirus, most of the expected culmination and awarding programs were postponed or canceled. It is a huge privilege that the Bangtan Boys were chosen to represent Asia.
Aside from the "Queen of Pop" Lady Gaga, other well-known personalities around the world are invited to grace the said event. Former United States President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are also expected to be present. Robert M. Gates, former Secretary of Defense, is also one of the guests. Former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, Malala Yousafzai, and Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai are also confirmed to partake.
According to news, the Obamas have planned to pursue the virtual graduation in cooperation with Reach Higher and YouTube Channel. It is known that the Obamas have spoken in numerous graduation rites, which they have been lauded many times for delivering influential speeches.
"I've always loved joining commencements - the culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice. Even if we can't get together in person this year, Michelle and I are excited to celebrate the nationwide Class of 2020 and recognize this milestone with you and your loved ones," said the former U.S. President in his tweet.
