Han Sung Soo, CEO of Pledis Entertainment, is now being held liable for allegedly fraudulently taking copyright royalties.

The lyricist SO JAY took an active part in eight of the tracks from IZ*ONE. She composed the lyrics for the girl band's mini-albums, five of the soundtrack, and three of the songs on their full album.

Dispatch reported that SO JAY was discovered to be the spouse of Han Sung Soo, whom they say was not, in fact, involved in producing and writing any of the lyrical compositions.

Pledis Entertainment said that SO JAY is merely using the name of his spouse, who's actually Han Sung Soo. Dispatch reported, however, that Han Sung Soo was also earning money as IZ*ONE's manager, and is, therefore, getting "extra" income when he takes lyricist's fees.

An informant stated, "He's getting money for producing, so he's likely careful about CJ. If he has nothing at all to fear, there's no need to utilize his wife's name." Dispatch also stated that there are indeed tax issues.

Han Sung Soo, nevertheless, clarified that taxes or negligence has no issues. He had only wanted to get compensated for what he had been working for. "I wanted to be remembered for what I engaged in," he said. "I was unable to maintain the integrity of the producer, and I was selfish. I am sorry."

Netizens are quick to react to this issue with remarks, such as the following:

"Why are there so many IZ*ONE controversies? My girls worth more."

"If he wrote the lyrics, he ought to be compensated for it just like everybody else, the only issue I find is that all these lyrics are attributed to his spouse and not to him because despite the fact that "it's his wife," I likely won't see the issue, it's not like stealing from someone."

"What he said was that I am sorry? That's what he considers an excuse and an apology? Haha! What a crazy b*****ch."

"He stated without even any remorse that he wished to be remembered for what he has done for? And he used his wife's name? SMH such a joke. I am happy that Big Hit Entertainment bought and take over and became Pledis' main shareholder, or else this bastard would have ruined the majority of the company's remaining if it were still on its own."

Bif Hit Successfully Acquired Pledis Entertainment

Big Hit publicly revealed on May 25 that the corporation is now Pledis Entertainment's biggest shareholder.

Pledis Entertainment is going to be a major hit entertainment label, but it is also operating independently. Han Sung Soo, the producer of Pledis, will be contributing to Big Hit's strong artistic line-up, expanded last year with the introduction of the CBO Min Hee-Jin.

"I am happy to join Big Hit, one of the largest and leading Korean entertainment industry," Han Sung Soo said. "It will give Pledis performers, and people involved a chance to make a difference. I look forward to a future with both the confluence of inventive, strong points of Pledis and Big Hit. We will revert to our fans with decent entertainment and greater results."

"Most of all, I 'm happy that we can work collaboratively with CEO Han Sung Soo and the creative association of Pledis," commented Big Hit CEO Bang Si Hyuk. "Big Hit and Pledis will evolve together by entertainment with shared trust and will build strong connections."
