Rumor has it that EXO's Sehun and Chinese actress Janice Wu's movie "Catman" will finally be released. Directed by Park Hee Gon, the South Korean-Chinese romance and fantasy film is said to be released on the 31st of December this year!
Liang Qu (Sehun) is a cool but cold and charming human-turned-cat due to a magic spell, and his special ability is to heal broken hearts. He lives with Xiao Wan (Janice Wu), an honest and positive lady who developed an app that allows translation of the cat's sounds into a language.
Janice Wu is a Chinese actress who got her fame after her role in the 2015 romance drama "My Sunshine" as Zhao Mosheng. Her other popular television series include "Fighter of the Destiny" and "The Brightest Star in the Sky."
Other cast members include Roy Liu, Xu Ke, Ju Jing Yi, Song Wei Long, and Rise Li. Fans are now excited to witness Sehun in the long-awaited movie as it wrapped up its filming in 2017. While there hasn't been a solid confirmation from the idol and actress's respective companies or the production team, website My Drama List says "Catman" is set for release in 2020.
"Finally can't wait to watch this movie "CATMAN" with my favorite Chinese Actress Janice Wu and Our handsome Maknae Sehunie," tweets one fan.
Sehun already appeared in several dramas such as "To The Beautiful You" (2012), "Royal Villa" (2013), "EXO Next Door" (2015), and "Secret Queen Makers" (2018). He also gained recognition for his acting, such as Best Idol Actor for his 2018 webtoon-based drama "Dokgo Rewind" in the 14th Soompi Awards in 2019 and AAA x Dongnam Media, and FPT Polytechnic Award (Actor) during the 4th Asia Artist Awards, both in 2019.
"Catman" filming began in 2016 in China and capped off the following year. Due to the Hallyu ban, the project had to be postponed.
Recently, K-pop idols have done an impressive work after BIGBANG's G-dragon was confirmed as endorser of a brand in China. BLACKPINK's Lisa was also confirmed recently as brand spokesperson for not one but two products in the said country.
