BLACKPINK Jennie Receives Death Threat + BLINKs Call On YGE To Take Legal Action

On June 8, fans and netizens were alarmed following death threat that the global K-pop superstar, Jennie, received a few days ago. Due to this, BLINKs are demanding YG Entertainment to take legal action, as well as to protect the BLACKPINK members at all cost.

On June 6, BLACKPINK Jennie became a victim of a death threat after a Twitter user posted a photo of two guns, with the caption:

"During BLACKPINK's June pre-release single promotions, my team will wipe Jennie out of this Earth with these," even creepily calling the scenario "cute" and warned the readers to add security to the members to make it fun.

What is more disturbing with the post is that the account user also claimed that Jennie wouldn't last until July, and informed everyone that he/she is not alone with their plot.

As soon as fanns found out about this post, they immediately reported the said account, and right away called the attention of YG Entertainment to track down the user. EXO-Ls are also furious that this troll is using EXO Kai's photo as its profile picture while spewing a harmful threat against another K-pop idol.

As of writing, there is no response yet from YG Entertainment. Thus, Chinese BLINKs shared the incident on Weibo, the largest social media platform in China, and it eventually captured the attention of a number of fans and netizens.

The post instantly trended on the international site, to the extent that it reached the attention of Esther Yu, Chinese actress and singer, who also posted the concern on her Weibo account to get the attention of YG Entertainment.

Esther, or also known as Shuxin, wrote, "OMG, I just saw this, it's so scary, our Jennie, please be careful. I hope all four members will be protected. Tag YG to protect out fairies well."

Aside from the famous personality who expressed her worried heart, Vista, 看天下, one of the largest Chinese media platform, showed its concern to the K-pop idol as well, raising the awareness about the threat and asks for heightened security to the members.

Fortunately, the guns that were posted turned out to be stolen from social media. However, threatening someone's life is a serious matter and definitely needs to have a proper response from the authorities.

This is not the first time that BLACKPINK members received death threats. Previously, BLACKPINK's Lisa and Jisoo received similar posts as well.

Fans are worried that this might cause anxiety and affect the mental health of the female idols, especially that they are preparing for their three-month-long promotion that will start this June.

Through the influence and power of internet users and BLINKs, they are hoping that they will get a response from YG Entertainment as soon as possible, and resolve the concerns that are not limited to the threats to the members' life, but also to protect their personal space and assets, to take legal action towards malicious rumors about the group, and to maintain their physical and mental health.
