Jisung and Chenle talked about their growth as K-pop stars in a recent interview and photoshoot for ELLE magazine for its July issue. Known to be best friends, the two NCT Dream members became the very first pair to have a pictorial for the magazine.
After the summer filming had finished, the idols wondered, "We are still enjoying the fifth summer together." As both Jisung and Chenle made their debut at such a young age, the pop stars spent nearly all of their teenage years in the spotlight.
When questioned what made them feel the most like they've already reached adulthood, Jisung answered, "The breadth of my interactions increased. I feel like I've grown because I can measure myself without being too generous."
Chenle cautiously responded, "I assume it's because you're still young if you feel like you've been all grown up. Whenever I can fully understand my own shortfalls, that was when I feel like I've matured."
Both idols also demonstrated a strong eagerness as musicians to continuously improve. Chenle commented, "There have been instances when no one else recognizes this, but I genuinely believe that I'm lacking. This is when I concentrate on delivering the most out of training."
Jisung added, "Because we've made our debut at an early age, I think it's inevitable that all of our co-members are particularly ambitious in seeking to improve our abilities. When we see older artists performing, we love it even more."
As for what it really is like being the youngest members of the big umbrella group, NCT, the two K-pop stars shared, "We really like it, of course. It seems like there are a large number of people whom we became really close to lately."
Earlier this summer, with their newest mini-album "Reload," NCT Dream did make their greatest successful comeback so far. The mini-album managed to earn their first Gaon double-platinum certification after having to sell over 500,000 copies within only a month, not to mention that they also topped the iTunes Top Albums rankings in 51 different regions across the world.
The group's title song "Ridin'" also became the first NCT song ever to hit no. 1 on Melon's music ranking in real-time.
