These K-pop idols are bringing "Hallyu" into the next level! It is rare for K-pop idols to be noticed by top luxury brands, not to mention becoming an ambassador for it. However, these idols proved that K-pop is dominating the global market as well, and became the "face" of top luxury brands.
EXO's Kai for GUCCI
Aside from being the only male idol to be on the cover of all the top male fashion magazines in Korea, Kai is also the first Korean celebrity that has been a consistent global ambassador in GUCCI's history. As of June 21, the singer has been part of the GUCCI gang for two years in a row.
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton recently posted an update on their Weibo account. On June 17, they showed their ambassador- the former K-pop idol Kris Wu wearing LV2 collection on Harper's BAZAAR July 2020 cover.
Burberry
Kris Wu has become a familiar name on this list, that's because he also was a global brand ambassador for Burberry. It was in 2017 when the luxury brand also announced that the singer would also be a co-designer and presented him with a design partnership.
Chanel
Just like her senior, G-Dragon, Jennie was also made a global brand ambassador for Chanel. The luxury brand explains that the reason they chose Jennie was due to her loyalty to Chanel, she also fits the brand's target image of a young and stylish to catch the attention of the younger and trendy millennials.
Dior
Jisoo's brand reputation is skyrocketing due to her being an ambassador for Dior Beauty. On June 22, a flood of Korean online news articles reported about ELLE Korea's July issue with Jisoo x Dior Beauty collaboration.
Armani
GOT7's Jackson Wang has had two collaborations with Giorgio Armani- especially their perfume collection. On January 30, the luxury brand updated its official Weibo account and announced that Jackson officially became the ambassador of Armani Beauty's fragrance called Si passione.
Yves Saint Laurent
YSL decided to break their 59-year old tradition and made BLACKPINK's Rosé their very first global ambassador! The fashion powerhouse is known for only appointing in-house beauty lineup as their ambassadors. ELLE Korea also had a photoshoot with the singer wearing YSL clothing and apparel from head to toe.
Tiffany
Anther member from GOT7 who has been catching the attention of luxury brands is none other than Mark Tuan! Although Tiffany has yet to announce him as their brand ambassador, he was already previously invited to one of Tiffany & Co. events last December 2019 in Shanghai, China.
Cartier
Kang Daniel was chosen to become a member of the Maison Cartier friends ambassador group last August 2019. In the September issue if Arena Homme+ Korea, the soloist was photographed wearing sophisticated jewelry from Cartier's Juste un Clou collection.
Prada
To complete the group, the youngest member is also a luxury brand ambassador. In February 2020, Prada announced that the new face of their brand would be BLACKPINK Lisa, making her their global brand ambassador for 2020.
Fendi
Jackson has been successful in snatching a place in luxury brands as its global ambassador. Last July 2019, Fendi launched an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with their brand ambassador, which they titled Fendi X Jackson Wang. Before its release, the idol also dropped his single Fendiman, which can be assumed was a hint for this collaboration.
Lancome
Nuest's Minhyun becomes Lancome's very first Korean male model. Recently the luxury beauty brand revealed a snippet of its pictorial with the idol. The pictorial is with DAZED magazine featuring Minhyun advertising Lancome foundation for men.
