Finally, the queens have returned!
On June 26, the phenomenal girl group BLACKPINK finally dropped their new music video and their pre-release track, "How You Like That," and as expected, the song explosively trended online and has set brand new records!
As of press time, it is viewed by more than 60 million on YouTube and counting, 15 hours since its release.
BLINKs also had nothing but praise for the girls for their mesmerizing visuals and impressive onscreen presence. Here are some of their comments online.
"It's just 13 hrs and already 57M views. [I'm] getting scared now for the BLINKs [because] they are monsters [in] streaming [lol]. Anyways, haters, are you still breathing now?" Tweeted one fan.
"WOW! I [SLEPT] 7 HOURS THEN I WOKE UP NOW THE VIEWS IS 58M. WOW BLINKS DID THAT. CONGRATULATIONS TO BLACKPINK AND BLINKS," another fan said.
"BP breaking records left and right ++ gaining more fans with just a pre-release single and i can't even say "remember when bp first debuted and nobody liked them?"-cause they were a monster group FROM THE START," one netizen said on social media.
"The mv is addicting. There are so many things happening that your eyes won't get bored, and the music is addicting too like it is enchanting you to stream again," according to a netizen.
Prior to the release of BLACKPINK's "How You Like That," YG Entertainment teased fans with consequent posters and teasers to ignite fans' excitement, considering that they had been waiting for a year for the girls' return.
Also, BLACKPINK, in their recently launched YouTube reality series, shared that the viewers will be expecting something great and "SWAG" that will showcase more of them.
Only 6 hours after "How You Like That" was unveiled, it debuted no. 1 on Genie and MelOn and US iTunes, and sold more than 1 million digital copies on Chinese sites, QQ, KuGou, and Kuwo Music. It also soared to having the highest number of unique listeners on MelOn in the first 24 hours.
Not only these but the K-Pop MV becomes the fastest (11 hours and 25 minutes) to reach 50 million views on YouTube, despite the fact that the streaming site has recently introduced its new policy.
Of course, the MV instantly (and even before the track was released) trended no. 1 on Twitter worldwide, and it remains one of the most talked-about by innumerable people on the app, who have evidently been patiently waiting for the said pre-release single.
Meanwhile, K-Pop audiences are confident that BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" MV will reach more chunks of views within 24 hours. BLINKs, and even non-BLINKs, can't get enough of the song and the quartet's charms in one frame - the power they hold.
Fans are joining forces to stream the music video as part of their support to the girls that have finally reawakened from their long hiatus.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
