On July 1, a Facebook paged called "Death is the key" posted an alarming post, threatening to kill TWICE's Nayeon.
The page shared a photo of Nayeon with a big red X over her at exactly 7 PM on July 1. The poster's caption reads:
"Guys, support us, we will gonna try to kill Nayeon. We admins, will meet at 205 Gangdong-daero, Seongnae-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. And try to find them. Hope u support us. Death is near, Nayeon!"
The page is a verified page that has over 24,000 followers on Facebook. In the about section, the admins are reportedly from Beijing, China. Upon seeing the post coming from such a big page, fans immediately started sharing screenshots online, trying to get more fans to take notice of the post.
Fans are urging JYP Entertainment to take action to protect TWICE, especially Nayeon. ONCEs trended the hashtag #ProtectNayeon on Twitter and are asking fans to mass email the company about their concerns on TWICE's safety. Fans also decided to cleanse the hashtag of negative posts about Nayeon by sharing cute photos and videos of the idol.
The Facebook page has since been deleted.
Recently, Nayeon's stalker had threatened to kill her if she ever dates secretly. He has been stalking her since 2019. The stalker, a German sasaeng named Josh, approached Nayeon during TWICE's flight back to Korea from Japan to give her his love letters. He was allegedly jumped by two managers. Following the incident, JYP Entertainment filed for restraining orders and made criminal complaints. On March 18, it was revealed the restraining order was withdraw temporarily due to problems with its delivery, as he had returned to Germany at the end of January after leaking fellow TWICE member Chaeyoung's phone number.
He has stated that he wants Nayeon to be happy, saying that he doesn't know her true opinion on him but she might want him to go back to Germany, which is why he is there now. In screenshots of private messages, however, he has threatened to kill Nayeon if she secretly dates anyone, saying any sane person would kill her and that it would be immoral to let such cruelty live. He has stated that it's the only normal thing to do if your true love betrays you.
In an audio recording posted by @twicehugs on Instagram, he had this to say about killing Nayeon,
"I would never hurt Nayeon, but if she dates secretly behind my back without talking to me about it, then of course. Are you f***ing reta***d, man? Are you f***ing completely reta***d? This is the most normal thing to do after someone betrays you. If your true love betrays you, and she knows that you truly love her - and Nayeon knows that I truly love her - and if she would still date secretly behind my back - and she certainly knows because I talked to her during the airplane flight - then of course, what do you think?"
If you have concerns for Nayeon, TWICE, or any JYP Entertainment artist's safety, you can email them at fan@jype.com. Likewise, if you have any information that will cause the company to strengthen its security and protect their artists, you may email them.
